知っている人は知っている、一部で熱狂的な支持があったゲームが「GOKIVADER」(ゴキベーダー)です。急に何故、これを取り上げるのかというと、ドワンゴ・川上量生氏の特別対談企画「ゲーマーはもっと経営者を目指すべき！」でやねうらお氏との対談記事を読んだからです。この記事の中で、『Bio_100%の方が作ってたWinGLというゲームライブラリがありまして。それがソースコードを見るには，5000円払う必要があった」とし、「こんなもんに5000円払うくらいなら，自分で作ったるわい！」と。いろいろやってるウチに，「BM98」を作れるだけの下地が出来上がってしまったんです。』と、うーむ、私は素直に5000円払った側でした。それで、「GOKIVADER」と何が関係しているの？というと、実は「GOKIVADER」は「BM98」のクローン元作品の「ビートマニア」の先駆けかと言われたベーマガ88年11月号掲載の末冨悟さんによるPC-6001用の投稿作品なのです。ベストプログラマーに選ばれ、その後に幾つかの機種に移植されました。また、2012年ごろにMSXに移植した方やプチコンに移植した方が見つかったりしています。ゲームとしては、画面上部から現れるをゴキブリ型侵略者をファンクションキーのF1～F5でストッパーを操作して倒すだけの単純なゲームです。得点が上がれば落ちるスピードが徐々に速くなっていきます。ニコニコ動画に動画がありました。http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm4185621実はこの作品、私も1995年にPC-98とDOS/Vにアレンジ的移植をしたのを思い出したのです。(Windows95が出る前なんです)作品名は「フマキラーZ」として、ゴキブリ以外にクモやダニやハエそして爆弾とキャラクターを増やしたのです。当時のマニュアルテキストには、下記のように書いております。「高校生だった時、科学部に所属していたんですが、その時使用していたパソコンがＰＣ－６６０１だったんです。（１９８７年）当然、市販のゲームなんかなく、ベーマガのプログラムを入力しては、そのゲームで遊んでいました。その中の一つに、"GOKIBENDER"という作品があって、テキストで描かれたゴキブリをファンクションキーで倒すという、この作品の元になった作品なんですが、部員達でハイスコアを競ったりして、すごい楽しかった思い出があります。いつか、この作品をグラフィカルにして作りたい。その思いが、ずっと頭の片隅にあって今回、Ｃ言語＋master.libを初めて使うにあたって、それをひっぱって来ました。」
久しぶりにゲームをやってみようとしたら、DOS/VなのでWindows8.1上ではさすがにそのまま動作させることが出来ませんでした。そこで、「DOSBox」という「PC/AT互換機のMS-DOS環境」を再現するエミュレータを使うことで動作させることが出来たわけです。VectorからフマキラーZをダウンロードし、lzh形式で圧縮してあるため、C:\tmpに解凍します。DOSBoxを起動し、Z>mount C C:\tmpでマウント後、CD C:\tmp\fuma100で「FUMAV.EXE」と入力することでゲームが起動します。スプレー缶をファンクションキーのF1～F5で操作し迫ってくるキャラクターに吹きかけます。ただし爆弾に吹きかけると爆発しますので、爆弾は避けて下さい。一応、「FUMA.MAN」が説明書となります。今ならHTML5+Javascriptで作り直すんでしょうね。ファンクションキーの操作もタップにすればいいし。ってなことを思った今日この頃です。
