Windows Vista - ReadyBoost 速ぇっっ！！

ノート PC(Let's Note R6M) がとても遅い。メモリが 1.5GB までしか搭載できないせいだろうか。

という事で、眉唾モンと噂の ReadyBoost を試してやろうと、これの 2GB を買った。4500円也。USB メモリも安くなったなぁ～。

早速、2GB 全部を ReadyBoost の領域に充て、試した。

「は、速ぇっ…！！」

体感速度は非常に良好になった気がする。（世の中の）ベンチマークのくだらない数字に踊らされて、ReadyBoost を舐めてた。この USB メモリが特別高速なのかもしれないが、ReadyBoost はかなり快適になる。

PC が遅いと思ったら ReadyBoost をお試しあれ。巷で言われている程、役立たずではないはず。

単純にこれにページング置いても軽くなるのかな。
起動速度は変わらないけど。

確か、ページングファイルを高速ストレージに置く事で高速化を図るのが ReadyBoost の仕組みなので、元々ページングファイルがここに置かれているイメージかな、と思います。

イキナリ USB メモリを抜かれても大丈夫なように、ページングファイルのコピーが USB メモリに置かれていて、USB メモリがつながっている間はページング関係は速いよ～という感じです。

これってReadyBoostのON/OFFは制御できないんですよね。
デスクトップマシンで使おうとして、動作しなかったみたいで放置してましたが......使えるのかな。ベンチマークの一人歩きの良い例ですね

とりあえず、ストレージをReadyBoostにするかどうかは選択できますよ。しかも、どれだけの容量を ReadyBoost に割り当てるかを設定できます。

最近、MSDNの内容とか、ATOKの辞書をメモリースティックやSDカードにインストールするようにしています。

そのような頻繁に参照するデータを入れるのは効果高そうですね。
